The Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination is one of the most competitive exams in Bangladesh, providing civil service jobs under the government. Every year, a large number of aspirants vie for limited spots. To proceed with your journey, you must go through the application process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you apply effortlessly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To kickstart the process, visit the Bangladesh Public Service Commission website: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the primary portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Avoid from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Navigate to the latest BCS exam circular under the “Circulars”. The circular shares all essential information, such as applicant guidelines, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other vital instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Carefully read the guidelines, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The regular age limit is 21–30 years for general candidates, but exceptions may be considered for specific groups such as freedom fighter descendants or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the application portal (Form 1). Provide all essential fields, such as basic information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Cross-check for any discrepancies. Providing invalid information can lead to disqualification.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a recent copyright-sized photograph (300x300 pixels, file size below 100KB) and your signature (300x80 pixels, file size below 60KB). Check that these meet the specifications mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After submitting the online form, you will be provided with a User ID. Use this ID to submit the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually 700 taka for general candidates and Tk. 100 for others. Follow the instructions provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will receive a confirmation SMS with a payment confirmation code. Keep this ID for future reference. Go back to the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Complete your application well before the deadline to avoid last-minute problems.

Print a copy of the application summary for future use, such as for getting the admit card.

By sticking to these guidelines, you can successfully apply for the BCS exam and progress towards your goal in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Good luck!
